Oily skin follow these simple tips:

Relaxation, living a stress-free lifestyle and lots of sleep are only some of the helpful tips that many health and beauty experts would generally recommend to anyone who wants to have a beautiful skin.

While these tips are generally helpful since the body naturally reacts well to healthy habits, it is also important to know what the specific remedies are in maintaining an oil-free skin.
What causes oily skin?

If you’re dreaming to have oil-free skin, you have to know what causes oily skin and act on them accordingly.

An oily skin can be bad or good. A person who has an oily skin can have the fewer tendencies to develop wrinkles early in life. On the other hand, she will be prone to blemishes such as pimples. This is because the sebaceous gland that produces sebum or the natural oil content in her skin is more active thus causing the skin to be clogged.

Causes of oily skin may be hereditary. Others may be influenced by a person?s hormone levels, diet, intake of contraceptive pills, and exposure to hot or humid weather. Stress has also been proven as one of the major causes of blemishes on the skin especially on the face. Changes in the hormone levels during pregnancy or menopause also affects a healthy skin.

Make your own face power at home:

Mix ½tbsp cornstarch with 1tsp baby powder in a bowl. Cornstarch is a thick powder that lasts longer on the face. Baby powder and cornstarch makes a soft mix that is best for the skin. Apply a little on your face to feel fresh. You can add a few drops of an aromatic essence if you want to make the powder smell better.
In a bowl, mix 1tsp green clay powder with 1tbsp cornstarch. Green clay is mostly used in making face packs. You can use it to make homemade face powder too! When mixed with cornstarch, green clay hides dark spots from the skin and opens the skin pores. You can either apply with a makeup puff or a brush to look fresh any time of the day.
Take a 1tsp beet-root powder, 1/2tsp mica and 2 ounces arrowroot powder. Mix them together. Now slowly add 5-8 drops of lavender essential oil (one drop at a time based on your requirement). Also add the powders in little quantities to suit your skin tone. Apply the homemade powder on your face and check if it is matched with your skin tone or not. Add more amount of these ingredients if required.
If you want to make a foundation powder at home, do not go for harsh chemical products. Just mix cornstarch with cocoa powder. While adding cocoa powder, see that the powder matches with your skin tone. Slowly add a little amount and mix. If required, add more in the bowl. Mix well so that no lumps are formed. Store it in a box and use whenever required. This mineral powder gives a better effect of a foundation than the others because of the cocoa powder.
One of the easiest ways to make a natural foundation is to apply a non-scented baby powder on the face. Just take the powder in your palms and then press it on your skin. Baby powder sets on the face and absorbs moisture. Thus the skin looks fresh and dry. This is an ideal face powder to beat the summer heat. You can also mix the non-scented baby powder with a compact. If you have a broken cake of a compact or foundation powder, just crush it finely and mix with the baby powder.

Relax your hair:

Castor Oil Massage: The normal definition of relaxation has little to do with straightening. So let us start with a hair therapy which will only relax your hair roots without having any effect on the texture of your hair. Massage your scalp and the length of your hair with castor oil. It will increase the volume of hair and also relax the hair tensed scalp muscles. Massage castor oil into your hair twice a week to get more manageable and softer (if not straighter) hair.

Coconut Milk & Lime: Mix equal proportions of coconut milk and lime juice in a container. Massage your scalp with this mixture and soak the entire length of your hair in it. Wrap a hot towel around your head and sit for an hour. You need to do this 3 times a week for a month to get noticeable results and continue to do it 3 times a week to maintain straight hair.

Plain Milk To Set Hair: If you need a quick fix solution for relaxing you hair then this is it. Mix equal amounts of milk and water in a container. Pour it into a spray dispenser. Spray your hair with milk diluted with water from root to tips. Then comb your hair with a fine comb to distribute the solution evenly across the thickness of your hair. Then wait for it to dry. Follow this up with a hair wash and use a good qualityhair conditioner. This will keep your hair straight till the next wash.

Olive Oil And Eggs: This hair therapy mask is rare but very effective. It may not straighten your hair radically, but it will relax your hair immensely. Break 3 eggs into 100 ml of olive oil. Whisk it together with a beater. Apply this hair mask and leave it for 20 minutes. Wash it off. Rinse every last bit of the mixture from your hair because it is very foul smelling. You will find your hair much relaxed after going through this hair therapy.

Get Shiny Hair Naturally:

1. Apply olive oil on the hair few hours before washing. Massage the scalp and tips of the hair with the oil. This clears the sebaceous oils from the scalp to get oil-free hair. You can mash avocado and add olive oil and 1 tsp of baking powder. Apply this paste on the hair and leave it for 30-45 minutes. Rinse well.

2. Always wash your hair with cold water. Hot water spoils the softness and quality of the hair thus making it brittle and fussy. Washing hair with hot water takes away the essential oils. Cold water can make the hair get the shiny and glossy touch.

3. After shampooing the hair, you can either use a conditioner to get silky hair with shine. Leave the conditioner for 2 minutes and then rinse off well.

4. You can use a natural conditioner such as vinegar to get shine in the hair. Add a few drops of vinegar in water and apply it on the hair. Leave for 30-40 seconds and then rinse off once with water if you want to.

5. The egg is one of the remedies to get shiny and glossy hair naturally. Beat an egg and apply it on the hair. Leave the paste on hair for 30 minutes and then wash it with a mild shampoo. The smell of egg will go a few hours after washing the hair. The hair becomes silky and glossy.

6. Never brush or comb wet or damp hair. The hair becomes frizzy, leads to breakage and split ends. Let it air dry and comb after the hair is completely dry.

7. Plastic bristles of brush or comb can spoil the shine in the hair so, use a natural bristled brush to keep the hair shiny and glossy.

8. Avoid applying hair gel which contains alcohol. It makes the hair dry. Also avoid using hair dryer. Occasional use of hair dryer to set the hair is fine but it is best to let the hair dry naturally.

Use these 8 remedies to get shiny and glossy hair naturally.

1 tablespoon Vitamin E Oil
3-6 drops of Lemon Essential Oil

Select a lip gloss pot, readily available from container stores, or, from using makeup or cosmetics. Ensure the container is sterile by boiling it in hot water. Want full effect of SPA follow these steps:

1. Stay off the alcohol and cigarettes

Most spa treatments expel toxins by releasing them into your blood stream, from where they are gradually pushed out of the body – usually over 24 hours. Drinking alcohol and smoking can dehydrate your body and further increase toxicity, so avoid both these for at least a full day.
2. Turn to water

In order to flush away those toxins and replace lost hydration (which is common after a spa therapy), drink lots of fluids – namely water and green tea – for 24 hours post-treatment.
3. Eat light

Avoid eating a heavy meal for a few hours after the treatment as your digestion needs all it’s power to eliminate toxins. For optimum results, have a meal made with garlic, which lowers blood pressure, boosts circulation, reduces fat, and flushes toxins from the body. Your best bet? A light, Asian-inspired dish.
4. Load up on the fruits

Swap dessert for a platter of fresh fruits: chock full with vitamins, enzymes and water, these are the best option for maintaining the health effects of any spa treatment.
5. Rest, rest, rest… and then rest some more!

A massage reveals it’s optimal benefits over a few hours, so you need some “me-time” to fully absorb the results of a spa session. By doing anything stressful, you might lose the effects of your treatment. Plus, any strenuous, rigorous or exciting activities (including steamy sex!), which make you sweat, will cause dehydration, leading to extreme fatigue. Instead, indulge in some quiet, relaxing pursuits like getting lost in a book or zoning away to music for 24 hours after your spa visit.
6. Resist the shower

Although it may sound counter-productive, if you have any treatments that use essential oils, creams or botanicals, refraining from rinsing off will allow your skin to soak up the minerals and anti-oxidants completely.
7. Skip the steam and sauna

You’ve been cleaned and steamed… heating up the face and body is going to strip away that just paid-for glow. And that’s highly avoidable, right?
8. Go light on home products

This is especially true is you have had a peel or scrub: adding on potent at-home products after these is a surefire recipe for redness. So, give your skin a two or three day break after a treatment.
9. Stay out of the sun

After a massage, peel or scrub, you’ve got a whole new batch of vulnerable skin cells that can easily burn in the sun. Better to stay in the shade and avoid the skin damage.
10. Sleep on a soft sheet

Your skin is super-soft after a spa visit (which is good). However, this also makes it super-prone to allergies, dust and harsh fabrics, which can easily cause rashes and other irritations (which is bad). To avoid, sleep on a soft sheet – preferably silk or satin (sigh!) – that won’t irritate your skin. And, yes, stay away from those rough towels as well.

Why go to a beauty spa and waste your money, when you can simply go to the supermarket? Avocados are naturally full of vitamin E, which is known to be great for your skin.I like to put one of these on after a long day at work, it has a very soothing feel and gives my skin a healthy glow.

Ingredients:
1 whole avocado
Two tbsp. Of honey

Directions:
Mash up 1 whole avocado
Mix together until smooth and creamy in a food processor
Apply to face and let sit for 10 minutes
Rinse with warm water

Make yourself: Vanilla Bath Bombs

Makes 7 medium sized bombs

1 1/4 cups baking soda or bicarbonate of soda
1/2 cup citric acid
2 tsp of almond oil or apricot kernel oil
Dashes of water
5 drops food coloring
10-15 drops vanilla fragrance oil or essential oil or vanilla beans from 2 pods.
Makes 7 medium sized bath bombs

Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl and stir until well mixed. Drizzle in almond oil and food coloring and stir until mixture is moistened. Add fragrance oil or vanilla bean innards and mix again. If the mixture is crumbly then add more oil or a dash of water. Roll the mixture into a ball using your hands or press it into a lightly oiled mold. (Spandex used a Madeline pan and shallow tart pans), but silicone cupcake tins, ice cube trays and even chocolate candy molds work fine and give more quantity due to the smaller size. After molding balls or shapes, put out of the molds gently and place on a sheet wax paper. Leave to dry for several DAYS, until it is rock hard. Bag or place in jars and use accordingly.

Get rid of under eye circles:

Cure under eye circles:

The skin around the eyes is very delicate and thinner than most other areas of the face. It has no oil glands and has a fine texture. This area requires special care and reflects neglect, abuse, aging, stress, internal health and lifestyle very easily. In fact, dark circles around the eyes can also develop due to hereditary factors, lack of sleep, illness, stress and nutritional deficiencies. Therefore, along with external treatment, it is advisable to take these aspects into consideration in order to establish the cause and bring about the necessary changes.

Mix fresh potato juice and cucumber juice in equal amounts. Soak some cotton in the above mixture and put on your eyelids for 20 minutes. Wash off with cold water.

Cut a cucumber in thin slices and apply on top of each eye for 20 minutes. This will drain the stress from the eyes and cool it down.

Tea bags are found to be very effective as far as curing dark circles is concerned. A cold tea bag should be placed on the top of each eye for 20 minutes every day.

One can use rose water or almond oil for massaging the under eyes dark circle, to get rid of them.
Gently press the mount below the index finger of your palm. This will enhance eyesight and also remove dark circles.

Grind nutmeg with milk and make a paste. Apply this paste on the dark circles. This will work very well and remove the dark circles.

Crush some mint leaves and apply its juice under the eyes.

For people having dark circles an 8 hour sleep is a must. At the same time one should drink plenty of water.

Make a paste blending tomato and lemon juice in equal amounts. Add a pinch of gram flour and turmeric powder and apply the paste and leave it for 15 minutes. This will do wonders in curing dark circles.

Try out this delicious recipe: Banana Pudding with Waffles:

3 large egg yolks
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups whole milk
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup (1/2 pint) heavy cream, cold
1/4 cup confectioners’ sugar
3 to 4 ripe bananas, depending on their size
1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
50 vanilla wafers, crushed if desired, plus a few whole wafers for decoration

1. Place the egg yolks in a heatproof bowl and whisk slightly just to combine.
2. Combine the sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Carefully add the milk to the pan, whisking constantly until the mixture starts to thicken, about 8 minutes. Do not let the pudding come to a full rolling boil, just a wee gentle boil. Immediately remove the pan from the heat.
3. Slowly pour half the thickened milk into the egg yolks, whisking well. Return the pan to medium heat and gently and slowly add the yolk mixture to the pan. Still stirring constantly, bring the mixture back to a gentle boil, and continue to stir for 1 minute more. Remove from the heat and stir in the butter and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. Let cool.
4. Whip the cream with a stand or handheld mixer until light and fluffy. Do not overbeat. Gently fold in the confectioners’ sugar and the remaining 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract.
5. Peel the bananas, cut them into 1/2-inch slices, sprinkle them with the lemon juice, and gently toss to coat.
6. Spoon 2 cups vanilla pudding in the bottom of a 2-quart bowl. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup crushed wafers or, if you prefer them whole, 1/3 of the wafers. Arrange 1 cup of the sliced bananas any way you wish over the wafers. Spoon in the rest of the pudding and coat with 1 cup crushed wafers or almost all of the remaining wafers. Arrange the remaining banana slices on top of the wafers, reserving a few banana slices for garnish. Cover the entire surface with the whipped cream. If desired, decorate with the reserved banana slices and some more whole wafers. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Apple Facial for Glowing Fairer skin:

1/2 cup of plain yogurt

Body Soak: With a combination of Dashing Lime and Ginger:

2 cups baking soda
1 cup Epsom salt
2 tablespoons of ground ginger

Mix all components together and pour into a mason jar. To use, run a warm bath and scoop desired amount into the water. If you’re looking for bubbles, I would supplement your bath with bubble bath soap.

Grape Fruit Lime Juice:

Ingredients:

Juice from 2 grapefruits

Juice from 2 limes

Juice from 1/2 a lemon

2 tablespoons fresh ginger juice

4 tablespoons of sugar, or agave syrup

1 cup water

Directions – The best way I get the juice from fresh ginger is by grating it fine and squeezing the pulp, ringing out the juice.

In a sauce pan, bring water, sugar and ginger to a simmer for about 5 minutes, or until sugar has dissolved. Let it cool.

In a pitcher, combine ginger-sugar water with grapefruit, lemon and lime juice and mix until combined. Add more sugar for taste.

Lip Scrub: For Beautiful Lips

PEPPERMINT LIP SCRUB:

1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon caster sugar
Peppermint oil
Almond Oil/Vitamin E oil
Glass Ramekin (for mixing)

To make:  Pour the sugar into the ramekin and then add the oils depending how you want the consistency of the lip scrub. I used about a quarter of a teaspoon of each oil as I like to add the liquid so there is enough flavor and enough liquid for it to hold together, but not so the solution is runny.  A variant of this scrub is that it can be used with lemon oil as well, or generally any other COOKING oil you like the taste of!

To Use: To use the scrub dab a small amount onto lips and rub together to gently exfoliate. You can then lick off the scrub or wipe off with a cloth.  This product can be stored at room temperature.
Tip:  If you have Vitamin E capsules, poke one with a pin and squeeze the oil into your recipe.

Body Scrub With coffee:

2 cups of coarsely ground coffee beans
1/2 cup raw sugar or sea salt
2-3 tablespoons massage oil

Mix all ingredients together. Take a hot shower to moisten your skin and open your pores. Using wide, circular motions, rub the coffee exfoliant onto your skin with strong, even pressure. Shower off, pat skin dry, and apply a thin layer of your favorite body lotion.

Restore skin with Olive and Pine:

Pineapple contains Bromeliad, a protein-digestive enzyme which helps rid the skin of dead cells and dirt.

It also counteracts histamines, has anti-inflammatory properties, and is a mild astringent. Olive oil has excellent healing properties and is a good source of vitamin E, which restores the skin's surface.

Use only the highest quality cold-pressed extra-virgin olive oil -- it should go without saying that bread dippers and flavored oils ought be left on the shelf. Reach for the good stuff!

In a blender, combine:

4 large pineapple chunks -or-
1/2 cup canned, drained pineapple
3 tablespoons olive oil

Blend until almost smooth. Apply mixture to face with fingertips and leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse face with warm water and pat dry.

Egg and Honey Mask:

1 egg
1/2 cup coconut oil, melted (but not hot)
1 tablespoon honey

Step 1: Beat the egg in a small bowl until frothy and well-mixed. Slowly add the liquid coconut oil and honey, beating until your mask is the consistency of mayonnaise.

Step 2: Take an empty toilet tissue roll and set it on end in a clean bowl. Spoon mixture into the cardboard toilet paper roll (or consider using an empty deodorant container). Place tube, in the bowl, in the freezer overnight.

Step 3: To use, peel away just the top 1/4 inch of the cardboard roll and smooth the frozen stick over your face (think of it as a push up pop). Leave your mask on for 5 to 10 minutes, then rinse off with warm water.

Return the cream stick covered with plastic wrap and frozen between uses. Particularly soothing on a sunburn. Keeps indefinitely if stored as directed.

Kiwi Best cleanser for Normal to Dry Skin:

Quick Strawberry pie:

Ingredients:
1 frozen (9-inch) pie crust
1 cup water
1 cup white granulated sugar
3 tbsp. Cornstarch
1/4 cup strawberry gelatin powder
1 pint of fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

Directions:
Pre bake pie crust according to directions on package. Cool to room temperature
Wash and hull strawberries.
Then cut them in half (or maybe smaller depending on how big your berries are).

In a saucepan, over medium-high heat, add water, sugar, cornstarch, & strawberry gelatin.
Whisk together until thoroughly combined.

Whisk mixture constantly while heating to prevent clumping or scorching until mixture begins to come to a gentle boil. Remove pan from the heat and allow the glaze to cool.

I like to put the saucepan in my sink where I've made some ice water.
This will cool the glaze quickly and allow it to set up a bit more.
As the glaze cools it will become translucent in color and you should notice it will thicken a little more as well. Whisk it occasionally as it cools. It will be thickened but still pourable.

Add your sliced berries to the baked and cooled pie crust.
Pour strawberry glaze over berries. Making sure to get it in between the nooks & crannies of the berries as best you can.

Chill pie in the refrigerator at least 2-3 hours before serving.

When ready to serve, dollop each slice with some whipped cream.

Polk ed Red Velvet Cake:

Ingredients:
1 box Red Velvet cake mix
The ingredients needed to make the cake (eggs, oil & water)

4 cups milk
1 (8 oz.) tub frozen whipped topping, thawed

Once cake comes out of the oven, allow it to cool for just a couple of minutes.
Then, with a wooden spoon handle, a spatula handle, or some other similarly-sized object, begin poking holes in the warm cake.

You want the holes to be BIG so that the pudding has plenty of room to get down in there.
Be sure to poke right down to the bottom of the cake.

In a medium bowl, prepare instant pudding. Whisk together pudding mix with 4 cups of milk.
Whisk until all the lumps are gone.

Pour pudding over cake. Taking care to pour it right into the holes as much as possible.
Spread it all out and using the back of the spoon, gently push pudding down into the holes.

Put the cake into the fridge to set and cool (about 2 hours).
(If you have anything hanging out in your fridge that is stinky, be sure to cover your cake first).

Once your cake has completely cooled, spread on whipped topping.Spread it out evenly over the pudding layer.

If you haven't done so already, crush you Oreo cookies.
I just place mine in a ziploc bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
Spread crushed Oreos onto the top of the cake.
You can do this part immediately before serving the cake if you like.
This will ensure the cookie bits are crunchy when you serve it.

This cake needs to be kept refrigerated.

How To Make It:

Heat two teaspoons of the oil in a pan and saute the red onion with a lot of salt and pepper for five minutes or until tender. Add half the garlic and cook for one minute. Transfer the mixture into a bowl.

Heat the rest of the oil in the pan and wilt the spinach with a pinch of salt and pepper and the remaining garlic. After one minute or when the spinach has wilted but is still brightly colored, take it out of the pan and let it cool. Use your hands to squeeze out the excess moisture then chop it and toss it with the lemon peel. Preheat the oven to 500 degrees F. Roll out the dough and put it on a greased peel or pan.

Brush the garlic oil over it, and then disseminate the onion over the crust and the spinach. Sprinkle the olives, feta, and mozzarella on top. Bake it for ten minutes or until the crust is crispy and golden brown. Sprinkle galore rosemary and parmesan over the top and serve.

Fried grilled potatoes:

  • 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed
  • 6 unpeeled waxy potatoes, each quartered lengthwise
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 to 2 sprigs fresh rosemary, chopped if desired (optional)

  • 1. Prepare a grill for direct cooking over high heat [500º F (260ºC)].
    2. Combine the oil and garlic in a large flameproof roasting pan. Place the pan on the grill grate, close the lid, and let it heat until the oil begins to shimmer, about 2 minutes. Carefully add the potatoes to the pan and gently stir to coat with the oil. Close the lid and “grill” the potatoes, keeping the lid closed except to occasionally turn the potatoes with a thin metal spatula, until they’re golden brown and tender, 20 to 25 minutes.
    3. Season the potatoes to taste with salt and pepper and, if desired, a sprinkle of rosemary. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the potatoes to a bowl or platter and serve hot.

Brownie Ice cream with chocolate covered:

    For the Brownies:
1 stick (8 tablespoons) unsalted butter, at room temperature
    1 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa, plus more for pan
    2 eggs
    1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
    3/4 cups flour
    Pinch of kosher salt

    For the Ice Cream Sandwiches:
1 quart vanilla ice cream, slightly softened
    2 pound chocolate chips
    1 teaspoon oil

    Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Butter a quarter sheet pan (a small jelly roll pan), or a 13x9inch pan. Place a sheet of parchment paper in the bottom, spread with butter, and dust with cocoa powder. Set aside.

In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream together butter, sugar, and 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder. When the mixture is creamy, and all lumps are gone, add in eggs, one at a time, incorporating well after each addition. Add in vanilla.

With the mixer on low, add in flour and salt. Mix until just combined. Spread into prepared pan and bake until shiny on the top, 10-15 minutes. Remove from oven, and allow to cool completely.

Remove Brownie from the pan, and cut in half. Spread ice cream on one half, and top with the other half. Freeze for 2-4 hours, until firm.

Cut the large ice cream sandwich into smaller sandwiches. Insert wooden popsicle sticks, and freeze for another hour.

Melt the chocolate chips with the oil in the microwave in 30 second intervals, until chocolate is smooth. Dip each ice cream sandwich in the chocolate, and let set on a sheet of parchment paper. Wrap in parchment paper and freeze until ready to serve.

Can you enhance your beauty using silk pillow! its in it crazy! but have a glance down:

    Silk & Skin

Did you know that silk is the nearest thing to human skin? It contains 18 of the essential proteins that are found in our skin and is even the same pH as our skin, making it a potent counter against premature ageing.
The creamy fabric also contains natural cellular albumen fiber, which helps faster cell renewal – again, a great protection against ageing and dull complexions.
Unlike cotton (which is very absorbent), silk does not soak up the natural moisture from your skin. The result? Better hydration, improved skin elasticity and lesser wrinkles. Similarly, it doesn’t absorb the beauty creams and serums that you put on at night, allowing them to stay on longer and work more efficiently.
Silk sheets and pillows offer a smoother surface for the face, so you don’t wake up with the crease marks that are common with other fabrics.
Silk is a natural heat regulator – it maintains body temperature and does not conduct heat or static electricity. Hence, it helps retain heat on cold nights and keep you cool in the summer. Hence, better beauty sleep!
    Silk & Hair
Sleeping on silk can help prevent hair from thinning… really! Cotton fabrics may seem soft but they cause friction – gripping and tugging at our strands as we move in our sleep – leading to hair breakage and split ends. Silk, on the hand, is much smoother, so hair simply slides over the surface however much you toss and turn. The result? Less tangling or breakage. Added bonus? A blow dry will last much longer.
Since silk traps less body heat than other fabrics, you wake up sans frizzy strands or a messy bed head.
